CDS Ltd will carry out a full CCTV inspection to determine the location and extent of any damage, give recommendations for any remedial works and supply a full report for your records.
What is CCTV Drain Survey?
A CCTV drain survey is when a small camera is pushed through a drain, pipe or sewer to locate the root of a blockage or damage in your drain. Whilst the camera navigates through the area, the findings are recorded and displayed on a monitor. This provides a detailed view of the problem and allows the problematic area to be tended to easily. Additionally, with this problem and the area being identified, a solution to the problem can be formulated and acted upon promptly.
Your CCTV report lets you see what you need to and gives you the information that you need to make decisions. Therefore we use the latest Technology to look into the affected areas and identify your drainage problems.
Why Choose to Have a CCTV Drain Survey?
CCTV drainage inspection and drain tracing services can save you time, money and a lot of unnecessary excavation. Our engineers are able to find buried manholes and inspection covers, locate damaged pipe work or the location of root penetration - so that you can dig where you need to.
Damage to the structure of the pipe work.
Decay on the joints where water is entering or leaving.
Dislodged pipe work that causes blockages.
Site handover reports for civil engineers.
Drain tracing by camera and by Sonde's.
Suitable for pipes as narrow as 100mm, our CCTV drainage survey crew uses video cameras to capture clear colour images that can make it easier for you to identify the problem, wherever it is in your drain, gully or manhole. We then provide the results on DVD or CD-ROM with a report detailing the condition of the drains and identifying the location of gullies and manholes.
CCTV Surveys Produce Actionable Results
With time and use, drains can deteriorate and fracture and ultimately collapse. Deterioration may take several years and is a result of a number of factors such as ground movement, poor construction, or tree root penetration. First indications of a problem quite often materialises as frequent and excessive blockages.
CCTV Drainage Inspections
We can't see a drainage problem when it is underground, whether it is drains, gullies, pits or pumps, it can be hard to know really just what's going on. Of course you can always dig a hole to find out, assuming you know exactly where to dig and that you are prepared for the possible consequences such as leaking sewerage, or missing the area altogether. Yet, frequently that is impracticable in many cases, nothing less than a visual assessment of the drain will provide the answer. That is where a CCTV survey provides you with the information to decide on a solution.
CCTV Survey Reports
Our CCTV cameras are inserted into the drain via an appropriate access point, such as a manhole or inspection chamber. It is then pushed or powered through the pipe. As the camera travels along the pipe the image is relayed to a monitor above ground where the operator will follow its progress and take note of any defects, recording their location within the length of the pipe. A survey report is then produced which lists the type and location of any defects.
This report, together with a diagram and DVD or CD Rom, is submitted to the client along with recommendations for remedial works that might take the form of excavation and replacement or lining works. CDS CCTV surveys are a cost effective way of detecting problems at their source and help to determine the most practical remedial options.
